High voltage substations are facilities located at the connection points between generation – transmission – distribution networks in the power transmission chain from power plants to consumers. These centers can act as a step-up substation by raising the electrical voltage or as a step-down substation by lowering the electrical voltage.

YEO provides turnkey construction services covering design & engineering, procurement, construction, erection, installation, testing and commissioning processes in a wide range of high voltage substations from 110kV to 500kV.

Air insulated substations consist of primary equipment such as power transformers, breakers, disconnectors, current-voltage transformers, surge arresters and secondary equipment such as protection & control relays, SCADA Systems, RTU and communication systems, AC/DC panels, and control buildings.

Substations are large and complex structures. A reliable substation depends on the quality of the primary and secondary equipment, starting from proper engineering and project management, to effective site management and installation quality.

YEO is able to carry out all design, electrical, mechanical, and construction works with its own teams that have a high level of know-how. One of the most important aspects that distinguishes the Issuer from its competitors is the presence of specialized construction staff.

Gas insulated substations (GIS) with high level of insulation are preferred due to their much smaller footprint compared to air insulated switchgears (AIS). Gas-insulated substations (GIS) are designed with new technologies, which are metal-clad, well-maintained, and insulated with SF6 gas. Breakers, disconnectors, current-voltage transformers, and metal enclosures in these systems are contained in SF6 gas. If maintenance and repairs are carried out regularly, the working life of the plant is much longer than other switchgear plants. It is frequently preferred due to its low maintenance cost and fast installation.

YEO performs turnkey installation of gas insulated substations up to 400kV voltage level, including all detailed engineering works.
